My uncle, Jack DeWeese, was the superintendent during the late Truman years. He and his wife gathered one of the great shell collections in the world. I had never visited the site until I went with my son in 2008, when he was a sophomore in HS. I was impressed by a lot of things, especially the frigate birds.
